Albania – Goers and Senders

July 6, 2022

It’s July 6th, and the departure date for the Albania Team is July 14th, just a little more than a week away. A lot of preparation has taken place for cross-cultural mission in a culturally Muslim country. We are a team of fifteen, plus two very young children. We’re excited to be going, and also very aware that we don’t go without a lot of support. We are the Goers, and many of you are Senders, offering financial and prayer support. We thank you!

In his letter to the Philippian Church (Philippians 1:3-5), the apostle Paul wrote: “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now…”

We echo those words as we thank you for your partnership in the Gospel as Senders of the 2022 Albania Mission Team. And, for those of you hearing about us for the first time, we invite you to become Senders by partnering with us in prayer for this mission.

We will spend one week in the town of Peshkopi, and one week in a nearby village of Kastriot, in the Diber region of the beautiful country of Albania. We will partner with good friends, Pastor Ermal Lushi and his American wife, Sarah, and American missionaries, Dan and Dawn Hall, and their Albanian ministry partners, Denis and Ela Shallari. We anticipate 60+ kids (5th – 8th grade) the first week, and about half that number in the rural village the second week. In addition, we are hoping that there will be some older youth who will have their own teen camp the second week. We will keep you informed via this blog, so stay tuned!

And again, thank you for your partnership in the Gospel as we strive to make Christ known!

Pastor Phil Lee, Co-Team Leader
