Week Two has begun as the team has now transitioned from Alpha Omega Church in Peshkopi to the new Outreach Center in the outlying village of Kastriot, where the American missionaries, Dan and Dawn Hall, have been working hard for a long time to establish solid relationships with the local people. We are partnering with them and our skilled Albanian translators to bring the story of the Gospel to precious children in rural Albania, many of whom have never heard God’s Word (class, music, and crafting pictures are below). The weather is sunny and warm, the location is beyond beautiful, and a number of us on the team are still dealing with health challenges. In other words, normal for this place.

As I write these words, I can hear the Muslim call to prayer wafting across the neighborhood, with the river running below us and folks out in cafes…but no one seems to be responding. However, in stark contrast, the children are definitely responding to us as we make Christ known in our words and actions.

One of our favorite songs, which the kids sing with gusto: “Now let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord.”
