Slovakia Teen Camp 2025 – Days 4-5
July 24, 2025
The week of teen camp in Slovakia flew by in a glorious whirlwind yet again.
Thursday was our last full day of camp, and the theme was Full-filled! We talked about how being Full is temporary and being Filled (by Jesus) is to have true peace but how to be Fulfilled is to have perfect purpose and meaning in life! After lunch Pastor Scott hosted an anonymous Q&A to give the students more chances to ask questions regarding the difficult topics he discussed the day before. It was a rainy day so we could not have a water day like planned, but we played a camp favorite game of live-action Clue. Our team members really got into their roles, and a great time was had by all! We watched the movie Unconditional during the evening’s Large Group, which is the story of an children’s book author struggling after the murder of her husband, who, through the Lord’s perfect design, is reconnected with a childhood friend and with her faith. It is truly a beautiful story of how God pursues us no matter where we are at in life and seeks to bring us back to himself!

Friday consisted of just a single Large Group in the morning where we discussed our final theme, “Overflowing”, and the movie, and followed up with a somewhat unstructured Small Group where we were able to answer any lingering questions and make sure to say our goodbyes to our students before they left us. It is always hard to say goodbye, but we always hope to see each other again next year!

At the beginning of the week, when asked what brought students to the camp, some replied “to make friends”, “to grow in my faith”, or “to practice speaking English with Americans”. At the end of the week, when asked what their favorite part of camp was, we heard, “having deep conversations in small groups”, “worshiping together” and “hearing testimonies about how some of the leaders first came to believe.” We don’t know all the ways the Lord may have used our time together, but we certainly saw relationships deepen, students ask super hard questions, lots of spirit-filled times of worship together, and tears as we all said goodbye.

Please continue to pray for Miro Mudrak and Miro Maťo and their teams who will continue ministering to these students year-round, long after the rest of us have gone back to our daily lives in the states. Look out for info soon regarding 2026 SON short-term trips and prayerfully consider joining us!
