Albania Teen Camp (Week 2: Day 5)

July 11, 2025

“Full-Filled: Spilling God’s Love”

Quick Recap: Teen camp began Day 1: empty. Unfamiliar faces, new songs, and strange ideas reminded our teens that our days can be full – yet empty of meaning and purpose. Day 2: filled. Our lives may feel filled, but perhaps with many things of this world that will never satisfy our hunger, or our emptiness. Day 3: full, (and a bit tired). We left the day full with the love of Jesus and His promise to be living water, the bread of life, and the source of our peace! Day 4: just for fun. We danced, we played, we picnicked. The team was blessed just to get to know these high energy, intelligent teens at the Drin River.

Day 5: Full-filled. All week our future leaders of Albania drank in true, living water: exploring ideas of vocation, calling, purpose, and living our lives in the vine of Jesus. How might we weather the storms of this life in peace? How do we make sense of the confusion and often conflicting signs that “guide” us in life? How can we pour into others with intentionality if our lives our empty? Why do we pray when so many prayers seem to go unanswered? How can we be filled with the fullness of Christ and spill over into others?

Many of their questions were explored watching the movie Unconditional. A story of redemption reminding us that God constantly pursues us no matter our condition. The movie suggested four truths:

1) Jesus is the great physician, healing us primarily through forgiveness and the gift of forgiving others.

2) God loves us unconditionally…period.

3) He is the source of our hope in difficult times.

4) To feel truly fulfilled, we must serve others.

After two weeks of English and Teen Camps, that’s a wrap!

Women’s Refresher: Carolyn and Sarah ended their ministry to professional women and mothers with a group coffee meeting and conversations in English. Each described their hopes and goals over the next year and requested to reunite next July!

Please pray…that each teen will ponder the truths shared in words, art and songs this week. That they would come to know the saving grace of Jesus and respond to His call. Pray that our brothers and sisters following their call for full-time missions and ministry in Albania would be encouraged and overflowing with the Holy Spirit to sustain them for another year. Finally, please pray for traveling mercies for our team members joining SON missionaries in Slovakia for another week of camps. Pray that the rest of us may return home safely – and continue the mission at home.

Thank you for supporting us. We love each of you!
