The last of the American team officially arrived at the Ichthys Center yesterday (Saturday afternoon), after a flight delay led to one of our team members arriving a day later than planned — but no worse for the wear. After picking up one of the two team members arriving from the States, we spent Friday afternoon exploring Spiš Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many of our team members had already arrived in Slovakia the week before to serve at the English Bible Camp in the nearby town of Svit, so they were still finishing up their last day of camp on Friday.

Saturday was an exciting day — we got to attend SEMfest, a Christian festival put on each summer by our mission partners here in Slovakia. The festival includes music performances by Christian artists, seminars, and all kinds of activities (even a pop-up barbershop!). We were honored to be asked to host a worship hour at the international tent. We sang many songs, tried our best to sing some parts in Slovak, and Pr. David delivered a short message on where we find our identity. That evening, a group from Latvia arrived after a very long drive.

One of our favorite things about this camp is getting to join together with believers from at least four different countries.This morning, we had the privilege of worshiping with the local church on a rainy day here at the Ichthys Center. Pr. David preached on rest, and Pr. Scott Yount (a SON missionary serving in Ukraine) led us in worship through song. After the service, our Slovak and German partners arrived from SEMfest, and now we’re preparing for the arrival of all the teens attending camp this week.

Please continue to pray for everyone to arrive safely, and that they feel welcomed and loved this evening as we play games, share dinner, introduce this week’s theme, and sing to the Lord together.
