Today we enjoyed worshiping at Lutheran Church of Augsburg Confession in Ružomberok, Slovakia. SON Musicianary to Latvia (Pastor DMC) gave the message based on Jeremiah 1:4-8 and the gospel of Luke 5:1-11, sharing how the Lord can use you even if you don’t feel qualified to do so. He even tied in our English Bible Camp theme of TRUST, using lessons from the life of Moses. In particular, Moses felt that the Lord picked the wrong one to lead the people of Israel to the Promised Land. After sharing more of the biblical examples of trusting God, the sermon emphasized that with God all things are possible!

After church we were treated to our first traditional Slovak lunch provided by the ladies of the congregation. The food was outstanding, delicious, and plentiful! Several of the ladies on our team have even asked for some of the recipes so they can recreate some of the Slovakian dishes back in America! This meal also brought together the Slovak translators with the American team members for the first time! It was a great opportunity for conversation and bonding!

After working through logistics for the camp schedule and plans for setup, a few of our team members went on a hike (with an 18% incline!?!) guided by two of our Slovak interpreters who happen to be sisters! 

In the evening, we were taken to the school where our English Bible Camp will take place in order to set up the classrooms for the 35 expected students that will come. Interpreters and teachers were bonding over classroom setup and decor, learning dance styles from each other, and teaching a game of four square once the work was done! 

Finally finished with the work for the day, most of the team went out to dinner at an American style restaurant with an Eastern European flair! An intense game of uno occurred at the restaurant with our team members enjoying the fun and light-hearted competition! The ice cream shops along the walkway are plentiful so after little persuading the team had ice cream together! Thank you for keeping up with us and praying alongside us for this beautiful work God is doing here! We continue to seek, recognize, and respond to what Jesus is revealing as His mission here in Slovakia!
